Walks Worth Barking About
FAQs & Policies
Scheduling & Timing
Our goal is to make sure every pup gets reliable, consistent care:
-
Walk Lengths: Standard walk times are 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
-
Arrival Windows: We operate with a 2-hour arrival window to allow flexibility with scheduling and travel.
-
Puppies & Seniors: For puppies under 1 year old or senior dogs, we narrow this to a 1-hour window to better accommodate their needs.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
We understand life can change quickly, but to keep things fair for our walkers and other clients:
-
Free Cancellations: Cancel up until 7:00pm the day prior at no charge.
-
Late Cancellations: Same-day cancellations or those made after 7:00pm the day before will be charged in full.
-
Holiday Policy: Walks booked on holidays are charged in full if canceled within 48 hours.
Pricing & Additional Fees
Our pricing reflects the extra effort required during non-standard times or challenging conditions:
-
Premium Hours: Walks scheduled before 9am or after 6pm incur a small surcharge.
-
Holiday Coverage: Walks during major holidays are billed at a premium rate.
-
Weather Differential: Extreme conditions (heavy rain, high heat, or intense sun) may carry a weather surcharge due to the additional care and safety measures required.
Safety, Equipment & Protocol
Your dog’s safety is our number one priority:
-
Leash Policy: We do not use retractable leashes. All dogs must be walked on standard leashes no longer than 6 feet.
-
Secure Equipment: Walkers use carabiners/metal hooks to secure leashes, along with backup leashes for extra security.
-
Group Size: Walks are limited to 4 dogs maximum per walker to ensure proper supervision.
-
Pickup Protocol: When collecting multiple dogs, we always secure the first dog before retrieving additional pups.
Licensing & Legal Requirements
-
All dogs must have a valid NYC dog license and wear the collar tag during walks.
-
Dogs must be up-to-date on rabies vaccinations.
-
We strictly follow NYC’s pooper-scooper law and 6-foot leash law.
-
Any bites or incidents must be reported per city regulations.
-
Off-leash play is only permitted during approved Central Park off-leash hours and with client permission.
Updates & Communication
We keep you connected while you’re away:
-
Photo & Text Updates: Walkers send a brief update with photos so you know how your pup is doing.
-
Walk Reports: A short recap of bathroom breaks, behavior, and overall mood.
-
Schedule Changes: Clients receive confirmations via email or portal whenever adjustments are made.
Special Needs & Additional Services
We’re experienced in tailoring care to unique needs:
-
Medical Support: Walkers are trained to handle senior dogs, administer medications, and provide extra patience and care.
-
Training Reinforcement: We can practice basic commands and reinforce training during walks as requested.
-
Extra Care: Specialized services like solo walks, buddy walks, or adventure outings are available depending on your dog’s needs.
-
Group vs. Private Walks: We’ll work with you to determine whether your pup is best suited for a private walk or a small group experience.
